Description
Signal is a messaging app built around privacy. It is free and easy to use, protecting every conversation with strong end-to-end encryption so that only you and the person you are talking to can read messages or hear calls — not even Signal itself.
The app covers all the essentials: send texts, voice messages, photos, videos, GIFs, and files over your data connection at no cost. Make crystal-clear encrypted voice and video calls, including group calls with up to 50 people, and run group chats with up to 1,000 members, complete with admin permission controls. Disappearing Stories let you share photo, text, and video updates that vanish after 24 hours, with granular privacy settings for each one.
Signal is developed by the independent nonprofit Signal Foundation and funded by donations rather than advertisers, so there are no ads, no trackers, and no data collection. Its open-source Signal Protocol has been widely audited and adopted across the industry.
